Bowmans Bursaries 2026

Bowmans is inviting South African students to apply for its Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year.

Closing Date: 30 September 2025

This exciting opportunity is open to Matriculants with excellent results who plan to study Law, as well as current Law students at South African universities.


What the Bowmans Bursary Covers

This is a full-cost bursary, covering all study-related expenses. Selections are based on academic merit and financial need, ensuring that deserving students get the chance to pursue their legal careers.


Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, you must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Have completed Matric or be currently in Matric
  • Be studying or planning to study towards a Law qualification at a recognised South African university
  • Have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in your current year of study
  • Demonstrate academic excellence and financial need
  • Show passion for Law and ability to work well in a team
  • Preference will be given to students from historically disadvantaged backgrounds

When applying, ensure you upload clear certified copies of the following documents:

  • ID document
  • Grade 11 final results AND latest Matric results (if currently in Matric)
  • Matric certificate (if completed Matric)
  • Full university transcript (if currently studying)
  • Motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary
  • Parents/ guardians proof of income (latest payslips, affidavit, pension/ SASSA proof if applicable)
