In South Africa there is many ways to check your 2016 matric results, you can get results the traditional way on newspaper, the day of matric results release (5 January 2017) or get them online on Department of Education website and website listed below or also via SMS / USSD. The Department of Basic Education’s National Senior Certificate will be released first week of January 2016. Many South African news sites are offering ways to see your results online, and have them delivered to your mobile phone when they become available. ONLINE Government Websites to get Matric Results Online The Department of Basic Education: The department always puts results up on its website. You will need the following to log in: Exam number (don’t misplace this during the holiday!) Home Language Your personal details (name, surname, etc.) Other websites to get your 2016 matric results EWN Matric portal IOL (for mobile and desktop) SMS / USSD SABC Education: You can have your results sent to you by SABC Education via SMS or USSD, to register on the service, SMS your ID and exam number to 35658 or dial *120*35658#. The USSD service will ask you a number of multiple choice questions before releasing your results per subject. SMSes will cost R3 and USSD rates apply. IOL: IOL also has an SMS service running, just send the word matric and your exam number to 45479. SMS’ costs R1.50.
