About the SANParks EPWP Opportunity

SANParks is offering four fixed-term EPWP opportunities for Skilled Environmental Monitors within the Technical Department at Marakele National Park.

The contracts will run until 31 March 2027.

Successful participants will be paid R311.00 per day in line with Expanded Public Works Programme rates.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Between 1 and 2 years of practical experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work under unfavourable conditions.

Added Advantages

  • A valid driver’s licence.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Assist physically with general maintenance work.
  • Carry out general plumbing-related work.
  • Assist with electrical maintenance.
  • Perform carpentry-related work.
  • Assist with civil works.
  • Work according to predetermined quality and productivity standards.
  • Conduct monthly material stock control.
  • Clean and maintain the storeroom.
  • Assist with routine maintenance of tourist buildings.
  • Maintain staff accommodation facilities.
  • Assist with maintenance of administrative and technical buildings.
  • Support maintenance of roads and other civil infrastructure.
  • Assist with maintenance of ablution facilities.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Preference will be given to:
