Oudtshoorn Local Municipality invites Grade 12 learners and students who have already completed Grade 12 to apply for the External Municipal Study Assistance Programme 2027.

About the Oudtshoorn Municipality Study Assistance Programme

The programme provides financial support to qualifying students who wish to pursue full-time studies at an accredited tertiary institution during the 2027 academic year.

The opportunity is open to students who reside within the Greater Oudtshoorn Municipality, including surrounding rural areas.

The programme aims to support learners and students who demonstrate strong academic potential and performance, with preference given to historically disadvantaged individuals and persons with disabilities.

Duration of the Study Assistance

The financial assistance will be awarded for one year.

Applicants should note that the support applies to the 2027 academic year and is limited to full-time study.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to:

  • Learners who are currently in Grade 12.
  • Applicants who have already passed Grade 12.
  • Students planning to study full-time in 2027.
  • Applicants who have been admitted or registered at an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Residents of the Greater Oudtshoorn Municipality.
  • Applicants residing in rural areas within the municipal boundaries.

Required Documents

Applications will only be considered if the application form is fully and correctly completed and accompanied by the required supporting documents.

Applicants must attach:

  • Certified copy of Grade 12 certificate or statement of results.
  • Proof of registration or admission at an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Certified copy of identity document.
  • Proof of residential address.
  • Proof of combined household income.

Applicants who already have a criminal record check report that is not older than six months are requested to attach the report.

Applicants who do not yet have a criminal record check report should attach proof that they have applied for one.

Forms can be collected during normal working hours between 07:30 and 16:30.
