About the Kopanang Gold Mine Learnership Programme
The Kopanang Gold Mine Engineering Artisan Development Programme is designed to provide learners with practical workplace experience, technical skills and structured training towards artisan trade certification.
Successful applicants will undergo training in line with QCTO and MQA requirements, including theoretical learning, practical training and workplace experience.
Learners will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the programme, subject to the applicable learnership agreement.
Available Learnership Fields
Opportunities are available in the following fields:
- Rigging
- Electrician
- Boilermaker
- Diesel Mechanic
The programme also refers to opportunities linked to the Government Certificate of Competency.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens.
- Preferably be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Reside in Matlosana Local Municipality, Viljoenskroon, Rammulotsi or Vierfontein areas.
- Provide proof of residence, such as a municipal account or signed affidavit.
- Be medically fit to work underground.
- Successfully undergo the required security screening.
- Have Matric / Grade 12.
- Have at least an N2 qualification or Technical Grade 12 certificate.
The technical qualification must include:
- Mathematics
- Science
- Relevant Trade Theory
- Engineering Drawing
At least two of the required subjects must have been passed with 50% or higher.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants who meet the minimum requirements and have not previously participated in the listed programmes are encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to suitably qualified candidates in line with the organisation’s Employment Equity Plan and targets.
