Aurecon: Engineering Internships 2017 in Cape Town

Aurecon is implementing Engineering Internships Programme as part of its contribution to skills development initiatives by inviting unemployed graduates to participate in the programme that will provide them with valuable work experience and increase their opportunities towards employment.Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipends during their placement.

Internship Location: Cape Town

Field of Studies :

  • BSc in Electrical / Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering / BTech in Electronic Engineering

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Executing C&I Engineering projects from inception to construction and close out
  • Be responsible for C&I designs
  • Assist team members to prepare C&I conceptual as well detail designs and specifications including control system architectures, general arrangement drawings, instrument technical data sheets, hook-up drawings, loop drawings and detailed bills of quantities
  • Assistance with tender preparation and technical adjudication
  • Attend factory acceptance testing and site installation inspections

Requirements

  • A keen interest in developing your career within a consulting engineering environment
  • Understanding of process control, process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Knowledge of automation consisting of PLC, DCS, PCS, HMI and SCADA systems, Industrial data networks, fieldbus systems, process Instrumentation and control valves as well as related international C&I standards
  • An understanding of radio telemetry and intrinsically safe system will be an added advantage
  • MS Office
  • MS Projects
  • AutoCAD
  • Vendor specific automation equipment programming and / or other C&I software will be an added advantage
