eThekwini Municipality: ICT Skills Programme 2020 in Durban

eThekwini Municipal Academy in partnership with MICT SETA invites applications from interested candidates to be part of the following three months skills programmes:

SKILLS PROGRAMME FOR UNEMPLOYED YOUTH IN ICT RELATED FIELDS

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Sound Technology NQF 4 Grade 12 with Maths and Maths Literacy, Proficiency in English and any other official language
Film and Television Production Operation (NQF 4) Grade 12 with Maths and Maths Literacy, Computer Literacy,  Proficiency in English and any other official language, A driver’s license will be an added advantage
Information Technology – System Development NQF 4 Grade 12 with Maths, English, Computer Literacy, Computer training will be an added advantage
Information Technology  – Technical Support NQF 4 Grade 12 with Maths, English, Computer Literacy, Computer training will be an added advantage
Information Technology  – Networks NQF 4 Grade 12 with Maths, English, Computer Literacy, Computer training will be an added advantage

Applications must meet the following criteria:

  1. Applicants must be South African citizens
  2. Applicants must be unemployed
  3. Be a resident of eThekwini Municipality – Proof of Residence from the councilor is required
  4. Must have passion and interest of the fields applied for;
  5. Applicants must be between the age of 18 – 35 years
  6. Persons retrenched from the IT Industry with no qualification may also be considered;
  7. Applicants should not have participated in a similar programme before;
  8. People with disabilities are encourage to apply;
  9. People who own small business in the above – mentioned areas who meet the requirements are encourage to apply.

Applicants may be subjected to:

  • Written assessments (numeracy and literacy)
  • Computer literacy assessments
