The Department of Basic Education has confirmed the release schedule for the 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination results. The exams will officially conclude on 27 November 2025, and the Minister of Basic Education, Ms Siviwe Gwarube, will announce the national results on 12 January 2026.
Learners across South Africa will be able to access their results from 13 January 2026, starting at 6am.
Where and How to Get Your 2025 Matric Results
All candidates are encouraged to obtain their Statements of Results from the school or exam centre where they wrote their exams. This is the most reliable and official document containing your marks.
You can also view your results online via the Department of Basic Education’s website from 6am on 13 January 2026.

Some results may not be immediately available due to technical issues. If this happens, candidates are advised to follow up with their school or district office.
Check Your Personal Information Carefully
Candidates must ensure that:
- Names and surnames are spelled correctly
- ID numbers are correct
Any corrections must be reported to the Department before 20 February 2026. Failure to do so may cause future verification issues when applying to universities or jobs.
How to Submit a Query About Your Results
If you believe there is an error in your results, you may submit a result query within 30 days after the results are released.
Queries must be lodged with your school, district office, or the relevant provincial education department.
Re-mark or Re-check Your 2025 NSC Exam Scripts
If you are not satisfied with your marks, you may apply for:
- Re-mark – The script is marked again
- Re-check – The script is checked to ensure the original marking was captured correctly
Applications open on 13 January 2026 and close on 27 January 2026 for both manual and online submissions.
