About the Apprenticeship
RCL Foods is seeking x5 Millwright Apprentices on a 3-year fixed term contract to join the Spreads Division at Siqalo Foods in Boksburg. The role reports to the Engineering Site Services Lead.
The main purpose of this programme is to develop the technical competence and practical skills required to become a qualified Millwright. Apprentices will undergo structured workplace learning, hands-on training, and theoretical knowledge to perform maintenance, repairs, and installations safely and effectively.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
- N3–N6 (with trade subjects)
- Must be between 18–35 years of age
- Employment Equity Preference: Females are encouraged to apply
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform non-specialised maintenance tasks within area of responsibility.
- Assist in fault finding, repairs, and optimising production output.
- Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Analyse breakdowns and implement continuous improvement measures.
- Participate in WCM and RCM engineering plans.
- Identify and investigate engineering losses using Kaizen problem-solving tools (Fishbone, 5 Why, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with Company safety rules and regulations, including Unilever safety and 5S standards.
- Coach and develop engineering skills of other maintenance and operational staff using OPLs and SOPs.
