Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have one of the following:

  • Grade 12 with:
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering Science
    • English Language
    • Mechanical Fitter Trade Theory

OR

  • N3 Certificate with:
    • N3 Mathematics
    • N3 Engineering Science
    • N3 Engineering Drawing
    • N3 Mechanical Fitter Trade Theory

OR

  • Engineering National Certificate (Vocational) – NCV NQF Level 4 (Mechanical Trade Theory)

Experience

  • No prior work experience required

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Successful apprentices will be required to:

  • Attend theoretical classes at an accredited training provider
  • Obtain relevant plant training on site
  • Complete the full curriculum for the Mechanical Fitter trade
  • Adhere to training schedules and requirements as prescribed by CHIETA
