Barloworld Equipment invites suitably qualified South African applicants to apply for the Apprentice X9 Global Grade 03 Programme based in Polokwane, Limpopo.
Apprenticeship Location: Polokwane, South Africa
Job Type: Full-Time
This apprenticeship gives aspiring technicians the opportunity to build practical skills in heavy earthmoving equipment maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and component installations — both in workshops and on customer sites.
Key Outputs
Successful apprentices will be required to:
- Inspect heavy earthmoving machinery and components
- Perform basic troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, and repairs
- Remove and install components in the workshop and at customer sites
- Order the required parts for repair or service tasks
- Manage their own administration (service reports, labour bookings, parts returns, travel expenses, etc.)
- Compile accurate diagnostic reports, including Machine Inspection Reports (MIR)
- Provide excellent service to internal and external customers
Qualification, Experience & Competencies
To qualify, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Academic Requirements
- Grade 12 / N3 with Pure Mathematics – minimum 45%
- Grade 12 with English – minimum 45%
- Grade 12 / N3 with Physical Science – minimum 45%
Added Advantages
- N2 / N3 with relevant trade theory (Motor/Diesel Theory or Electrical/Electronic Theory)
- Technicians for the World Certificate (advantageous)
- Code B Learner’s Licence (light motor vehicle)
