We are looking for newly graduated applicants with an IT qualification that are seeking an exciting internship opportunity based in Pretoria, Gauteng
Job Summary
To provide IT support to the company’s various departments in the Gauteng region
Responsibilities
- First level of internal IT support
- Handling of all verbal, e-mail and phone queries, and ensuring these queries are logged into the department’s ticketing system
- Hourly follow-up on tickets assigned to you on the department’s ticketing system
- Provide feedback to the customer and resolve queries in accordance with the departments SLA
- Escalate queries to the IT Support Manager if you will not be able to resolve them within SLA time
- Visit other branches as and when required, in order to assess or resolve issues
- Ensure all required software is installed and the device and its applications are correctly configured for the intended recipient or its intended use
- Ensure devices are made available to the customer within the applicable SLA time
- Minimize the impact on our operations by performing as much work as possible remotely, and by minimizing device downtime
- Research possible solutions to hardware, service or network concerns
- Assist in procurement of this equipment or services
- Prepare and configure the equipment or service to be installed
- Install applications on one or more devices, go through the process as requested by the Systems Manager and provide feedback on the requested topics within the specified period
- Ensure all assets are captured and asset details and documents are updated on the system (selected assets, often regionally and only upon request of the IT Support Manager)
- Visit other branches to collect or verify asset information, as and when required
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- A relevant Diploma or Degree in IT will be preferred
- Relevant qualifications and experience, knowledge and skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport preferable
- Must be well presented, professional and have excellent communications skills
