About the Counselling Psychology Internship 2026
The Directorate of Student Development and Support (SDS) at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) is offering four internship opportunities in Counselling Psychology. The internship aims to provide practical and professional experience to students pursuing their MA in Counselling Psychology, helping them fulfil training requirements in line with HPCSA standards.
This is a 12-month full-time programme offering exposure to individual and group counselling, psycho-educational programmes, and community-based support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional counselling services to registered TUT students
- Support students in developing academic and personal skills
- Facilitate psycho-educative presentations, training, and workshops
- Offer individual and group counselling to children at a local children’s home
- Perform administrative tasks required by SDS
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Minimum Requirements
- Must be currently registered for an MA in Counselling Psychology at a recognised university
- Must be registered with the HPCSA as a student in Counselling Psychology
