The Ngwathe Local Municipality, situated in the Free State Province, is inviting unemployed youth to apply for the Traffic Trainee Learnership Programme 2025.

About the Learnership
Ngwathe Municipality is offering unemployed youth the opportunity to train towards a certificate in Road Traffic and Law Enforcement (NQF Level 4). This initiative aims to address high youth unemployment levels while providing essential skills development opportunities.
Training will be provided by the Mangaung Traffic Training Academy, and the learnership will run for a period of 12 months.
A total of 27 positions are available.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens with a Grade 12 certificate.
- Have a valid driver’s licence.
- Provide SAPS clearance results (no criminal record).
- Submit medical examination proof.
- Reside permanently within the jurisdiction of Ngwathe Municipality.
Candidate Requirements
Shortlisted candidates will be required to:
- Pass a written assessment and an interview.
- Undergo a physical assessment.
- Submit their SAPS clearance results.
- Maintain a high level of fitness and undergo ongoing fitness assessments.
- Adhere to the code of conduct of Ngwathe Municipality.
Special Conditions
- The Municipality is not obliged to offer permanent employment after completion of the learnership.
- Candidates will undergo extensive physical training, including firearm and ammunition training.
- Successful candidates must be willing to wear a uniform, work shifts, and perform duties in all weather conditions.
- Only candidates residing in Ngwathe will be accommodated (proof of residence will be required).
