About the Peermont Education Trust Bursary
The Peermont Education Trust bursary supports youth residing within the Ekurhuleni metropolitan area (Gauteng) to pursue full-time undergraduate studies in any field (excluding Medicine) at Gauteng-based accredited tertiary institutions. The bursary aligns with Peermontโs socio-economic mission to remove financial barriers, nurture talent, and open career opportunities for young people in the community.
What the Bursary Covers
- Registration and tuition fees
- Prescribed books and/or study materials
- Accommodation (as approved)
Selection Criteria
- Awards are based on academic excellence and financial need (combined annual household income).
- The bursary is renewable annually based on academic performance.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
- The Trusteesโ decision is final.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following minimum criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Permanently reside in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng
- Intend to study or be studying full-time toward an undergraduate qualification (any field except Medicine)
- Be accepted to study / studying at an accredited Gauteng tertiary institution
- The study programme must be at least 1 year in duration
Required Supporting Documents
Submit clear, certified copies where applicable:
- South African ID (certified)
- Grade 11 results and Matric June 2025 report (if currently in Matric) โ submit final Grade 12 results once available
- Matric/NSC results (if completed Matric)
- Full academic record including latest results (if currently studying)
- Proof of residence in Ekurhuleni (e.g., utilities account)
- Parentsโ/Guardiansโ proof of income:
- Latest salary/wage slips (if employed), or
- Affidavit (if unemployed), or
- Affidavit stating annual income (if self-employed), or
- Death certificates (if deceased)
