About the PPS Foundation Bursary

The PPS Foundation is committed to supporting youth development by funding students who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need.

Bursaries are awarded to students pursuing degree studies within STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), as well as selected programmes in the Humanities field.

The bursary supports students from first year to Honours level, ensuring consistent academic and financial assistance throughout their tertiary journey.


Coverage Value & Benefits

The PPS Foundation Bursary covers the following expenses:

  • Tuition fees
  • Prescribed textbooks
  • Meals
  • Accommodation at university residences

In addition to financial support, bursary recipients also gain access to additional resources to enhance their learning experience, such as:

  • Study skills and tutoring sessions
  • Networking event invitations
  • Career service resources and financial aid advice
  • On-campus contact support sessions (for 1st-year students)

Student Responsibilities

Bursary holders are expected to:

  • Submit academic results at the end of each semester to maintain funding eligibility.
  • Attend scheduled support and development sessions organised by the PPS Foundation.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic performance (minimum 65% average).

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the PPS Foundation Bursary 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be currently in Matric (2025) or have completed Matric
  • Be enrolled or intend to study full-time at a public tertiary institution (University or University of Technology) in South Africa
  • Demonstrate academic excellence (minimum overall average of 65%)
  • Have a household income not exceeding R1 million per annum
  • Preference will be given to students pursuing STEM-related qualifications

Required Documents

Applicants must upload the following certified documents (not older than 3 months) when applying online:

  • ID document
  • Matric certificate or latest results statement
  • Full academic record (for current students)
  • Proof of registration for the current academic year
  • Financial statement from university’s student finance department
  • Proforma invoice for prescribed books
  • Lease agreement (if living in private accommodation)
  • Proof of household income (latest payslips, affidavit if unemployed, grant or pension proof, or death certificate where applicable)

📅 Important:

  • Preliminary academic results due by 20 December 2025
  • Final transcripts due by 16 January 2026 (for shortlisted candidates)
