The City of Tshwane invites South African unemployed youth to apply for the Apprenticeships Programme 2026. The programme is designed to equip young people with practical skills, accredited training, and work-integrated learning to succeed in today’s highly competitive and challenging job market.

Apprenticeship trades available for 2026

The City of Tshwane (Learning and Development Division), an accredited training provider, offers a full apprenticeship programme in the following trades:

  • Electrical (30 posts)
    Reference Number: TLMA-E-2026
  • Welding (15 posts)
    Reference Number: TLMA-W-2026
  • Vehicle Mechanics (30 posts)
    Reference Number: TLMA—V-2026
  • Boilermaking (15 posts)
    Reference Number: TLMA-B-2026
  • Plumbing (15 posts)
    Reference Number: TLMA-P-2025
  • Fitting and Turning (15 posts)
    Reference Number: TLMA-F-2026

Important: Applicants must apply for each apprenticeship separately, using the relevant reference number indicated above.


Stipend

Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of:

R2 792,44 per month


What you need to qualify

To be considered for the City of Tshwane Apprenticeships Programme 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Technical Matric, NCV Level 4, or N2 certificate with:
    • Mathematics
    • Science
    • Relevant trade theory
  • A genuine interest in becoming an artisan
  • Commitment, discipline, and enthusiasm for technical training
