About the Apprenticeship Programme
The Fitter & Turner Apprentice Programme is designed to develop skilled artisans who can support production through effective maintenance, installations, and troubleshooting. Apprentices will complete all required trade theory modules and practical training within the specified timeframe, aligned to industry and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Successful apprentices will be required to:
- Complete all theoretical modules required for the Fitter & Turner trade
- Undergo intensive on-the-job training and related technical training
- Achieve required pass rates for Trade Theory 1, 2 and 3
- Perform routine quality checks according to the quality plan
- Support production by ensuring equipment availability and reliability
- Conduct maintenance and installations practically and safely
- Develop problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ensure team adherence to quality standards
- Complete all required recording and reporting documentation
- Adhere strictly to plant rules, regulations, and safety procedures
Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum N3 Mechanical Engineering qualification
- Mathematics and Physical Science (compulsory)
- Basic mechanical understanding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Basic computer literacy
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Team-oriented, systematic, and well-organised approach
- Positive attitude and ability to use own initiative
- Willingness to work overtime and shifts when required
