Fruit SA invites applications from highly motivated graduates under the age of 30 to join its Head Office in Pretoria, South Africa, for a 12-month internship starting on 1 April 2026.
The closing date for applications is 06 February 2026.

Fruit SA offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to South Africa’s fruit industry through stakeholder engagement, industry research, trend analysis (local and international), and executive-level support in a fast-paced professional environment.


Internship Overview

  • Position: Intern (2026/27)
  • Location: Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Start Date: 1 April 2026
  • Reporting To: Industry Affairs Manager
  • Remuneration: Market-related stipend
  • Closing Date: 06 February 2026

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in:

  • Agricultural Economics, or
  • A related field aligned to the fruit industry value chain

Key Responsibilities

The successful intern will:

  • Provide administrative and management support to the Industry Affairs Manager, Market Access Liaison Manager, and the CEO
  • Stand in for the Executive Office Administrator when required
  • Conduct research and analysis on local and international fruit industry trends
  • Compile, update, and manage the Fruit SA Industry Statistics Booklet and database
  • Assist with Citrus Industry Trust administration, including meetings, minutes, stakeholder communication, and record-keeping
  • Represent Fruit SA at industry events and conferences and compile post-event reports
  • Support effective stakeholder engagement across industry bodies and partners
  • Contribute content to internal documents and reports

Requirements and Competencies

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Sound understanding of the South African agricultural and fruit industry value chain
  • Knowledge of local and international agricultural markets
  • Interest in regulatory, technical, and phytosanitary aspects of the fruit trade
  • Strong technical, digital, and data fluency
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and public-speaking skills
  • Good report writing and numerical skills
  • Strong organisation, planning, and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Capacity to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills
