About the Sanlam Actuarial Bursary Programme

The Sanlam Actuarial Bursary is offered to:

  • School-leaving learners who intend to study Actuarial Science in 2027, and
  • Current full-time Actuarial Science students in their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of study

The bursary supports academically strong individuals who demonstrate discipline, analytical ability, and long-term commitment to the actuarial profession.


Who Can Apply?

Undergraduate Actuarial Science Students

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens
  • Be registered as full-time Actuarial Science students (1st, 2nd, or 3rd year)
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance and leadership potential

School-Leaving Learners (Class of 2026)

Applicants must:

  • Intend to study Actuarial Science in 2027
  • Achieve above 90% in Mathematics
  • Have an overall A aggregate
  • Show strong problem-solving ability, discipline, and academic focus

Successful bursary recipients will receive:

For School-Leaving Learners

  • Final Grade 11 (2025) results
  • Grade 12 mid-year (2026) results
  • NBT results (if available)
  • Final Grade 12 results may be used as a deciding factor
