About the ATNS Bursary Programme 2026
ATNS will award 117 bursaries for studies in Air Traffic Services fields.
Successful applicants will join one of the following streams:
- Air Traffic Services Officer (ATSO)
- Aeronautical Information Management Officer (AIMO)
- Target Generating Officer (TGO)
- Airport Management Centre (AMC) Liaison Officer
- Simulator Support Officer (SSO)
Students will be placed according to ATNS operational requirements and will undergo comprehensive aviation training at the ATNS Aviation Training Academy.

- Study at the ATNS Aviation Training Academy in Gauteng

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have completed Matric
- Achieved a minimum of Level 4 / HG “D” / SG “C” in:
- Pure Mathematics
- English
- Be interested in training toward a career in Air Traffic Management
- Be willing to study at the Aviation Training Academy in Bonaero Park
- Be unemployed
- Be willing to relocate anywhere in South Africa
- Must NOT have previously participated in a similar ATNS programme
- Be medically fit and willing to undergo medical assessment (ATSO stream)
Failure to meet these requirements will result in disqualification.
