Role Summary
The Pharmacist Assistant Learner will support the provision of medication and supplementary pharmaceutical services under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
The successful candidate will:
- Assist in medication dispensing
- Support stock management processes
- Ensure compliance with SA Pharmacy Council regulations
- Help meet patient needs in a responsible and cost-effective manner
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Excellence – Stock Control
- Participate in cyclical and full stock-take processes
- Assist with procurement and ethical stock control
- Process stock for internal departments and inter-clinic sales
- Manage stock according to Netcare Stock Management policy
- Follow up on outstanding medication for patients
Medication Dispensing
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing medication
- Pick and package medicine under supervision
- Capture dispensed items to patients’ accounts according to medical aid TTO rules
- Capture patient profiles and prescriptions on the Unisolve system
- Assist with monthly chronic medicine recall
Administrative and General Duties
- Ensure compliance with SA Pharmacy Council regulations
- Perform administrative and housekeeping tasks
- Carry out duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist
Teamwork and Professional Development
- Actively participate in team goals
- Maintain professional development and skills
- Stay updated on Netcare policies and procedures
