This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the mining industry while working towards becoming a qualified artisan.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet ONE of the following:
Option 1:
- Matric with:
- Mathematics (NOT Mathematical Literacy)
- Physical Science
- English
- Minimum 40% pass in all subjects
OR Option 2:
- N2 or higher qualification with four subjects passed including:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Relevant trade subjects (as listed below)
OR:
- NCV Level 4 in appropriate trade with minimum 40% pass in all subjects
Trade-Specific Requirements
Boilermaker:
- Platers/Welders Theory
- Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings
Electrical:
- Electrical Trade Theory
- Industrial Electronics or Engineering Drawings
Diesel Mechanic:
- Diesel or Motor Trade Theory
- Engineering Drawings
Mechanical Fitter:
- Fitting Trade Theory
- Engineering Drawings
Instrument Mechanician:
- Instrument Trade Theory
- Industrial Electronics
Auto Electrician:
- Motor Electrical Trade Theory
- Industrial Electronics
Millwright:
- Electrical and Fitting Trade Theories
- Engineering Drawings or Industrial Electronics
Required Documents
Applications MUST include:
- Updated CV
- Certified copies of relevant qualifications
- Certified copy of South African ID
- Proof of residence (for host community applicants, stamped by tribal office or municipality)
