Stipend: R78 000 per annum
About the Internship Programme
This internship is implemented in partnership with the Local Government SETA, aimed at building capacity within municipalities.
Interns will gain:
- Practical workplace experience in Human Resources
- Exposure to municipal HR processes
- Training aligned with local government regulations
Purpose of the Role
The programme is designed to:
- Develop HR skills in a municipal environment
- Support service delivery through HR functions
- Prepare graduates for careers in Human Resource Management
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Basic knowledge of Human Resource Services
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Report writing skills
- High level of responsibility
Preferred Qualification:
- Diploma in Human Resource Management
Additional Requirements
- Competence in at least two official Western Cape languages:
- Afrikaans
- English
- Xhosa
Key Responsibilities
Interns will assist with:
- Implementation of Municipal Staff Regulations
- Labour Relations processes
- Personnel Administration
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Training and Development programmes
Important Conditions
- Preference will be given to candidates from the Bergrivier municipal area (WC013)
- Applicants must comply with the Employment Equity Act
- Successful candidates will undergo:
- Police clearance
- Interview and evaluation process
