About the Apprenticeship Programme
Successful candidates will be placed at the Lubricants Manufacturing Plant (LMP) in Durban, where they will:
- Gain structured workplace training
- Work alongside experienced maintenance teams
- Participate in both theoretical and practical learning
- Complete logbooks and assessments
This programme combines hands-on experience with formal training, preparing candidates for careers in engineering and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Apprentices will:
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSSEQ) standards
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Assist with plant maintenance and operations
- Attend training sessions and complete assessments
- Maintain equipment and work areas
- Report hazards and safety incidents
- Complete timesheets, logbooks, and documentation
- Work overtime or shifts when required
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Physical Science
- OR N3 / N4 / N5 / N6 Engineering qualification (Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic)
Additional Requirements
Candidates must be:
- Physically fit
- Willing to work at heights (e.g., tanks and platforms)
- Willing to work in confined spaces (e.g., inside tanks)
- Able to work in an industrial environment
