Learnership Overview
Harmony Gold, one of the largest gold mining companies in South Africa, is offering learnership opportunities for candidates who want to build careers in artisan and engineering trades.
This programme provides structured training and workplace exposure, helping learners gain the practical skills required in the mining industry.
Available Learnership Fields
Applicants can apply in the following trades:
- Rigger
- Boilermaker / Plater
- Fitter
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Technical Grade 12 OR
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (minimum 50%) OR
- N2 qualification (with relevant trade theory subjects) OR
- NCV Level 4 with Mathematics (minimum 50%) and related trade theory
Note: Maths Literacy is not accepted
Additional Requirements
Applicants must also:
- Provide proof of residence
- Be medically fit
- Undergo psychometric assessments
- Have good English communication skills
- Be able to work in a team
- Be willing to work overtime and standby when required
- Follow health and safety protocols
Added Advantages

- N6 or Diploma in Engineering Studies
- Driver’s licence and reliable transport
- Previous qualification in the chosen trade
Selection Process
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted
- Applicants must undergo a medical fitness assessment
- Candidates will attend an interview
