Internship Overview
The NDZ Municipality Internship Programme 2025/2026 is a 12-month structured programme designed to provide graduates with practical experience in municipal finance, environmental management, and community services.
Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R5 000, while the Municipal Finance Management Intern receives R75 000 per annum.

1. Municipal Finance Management Intern (X1)
Department: Finance

Requirements:
- Grade 12
- National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Communication skills (English & IsiZulu)
- Computer literacy
2. Data Cleanser Intern (X2)
Department: Finance
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Diploma or Degree in Financial Management, Accounting or related field
3. Revenue Cashier Intern (X1)
Department: Finance
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Financial-related qualification
4. Payroll / Expenditure Intern (X1)
Department: Finance
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Financial-related qualification
5. Environmental Management Intern (X1)
Department: Public Works & Basic Services
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Diploma or Degree in Environmental Management or related field
6. Pound Intern (X1)
Department: Community & Social Services
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Diploma or Degree in Agriculture or related field
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Reside within the municipality’s jurisdiction
- Hold a relevant qualification for the position applied for
- Be unemployed
- Have good communication and computer skills

Interns will gain exposure to:
- Budgeting and financial reporting
- Revenue and expenditure management
- Asset management
- Procurement and supply chain processes
- Environmental and municipal service delivery systems
