Overview of the Internship Programme

The internship is based in the Executive Director’s Office and provides practical experience in administrative coordination, research, and strategic planning.

Programme Details:

  • Position: Student Intern
  • Department: Human Settlements
  • Duration: Up to 18 Months

Monthly Stipend:

  • R10 109.86 (for completed qualification – minimum 360 credits)
  • R4 951.88 (for currently enrolled students)

Purpose of the Programme

The internship aims to:

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Have Matric (Grade 12)
  • Hold a Degree (NQF Level 6 or 7) in:
    • Business Management
    • Business Administration
    • Journalism
    • Media
    • Public Administration
    • Public Management
  • Reside within the City of Johannesburg
  • Not have participated in a similar internship (unless unrelated field)

Interns will gain experience in:

Administrative Support

  • General office administration

  • Data capturing and correspondence

Research & Monitoring

  • Supporting research activities
  • Assisting monitoring and evaluation processes
  • Collecting and analysing performance data

Risk & Compliance

  • Supporting compliance documentation

  • Supporting programme implementation

  • Responding to public enquiries
