The City of Ekurhuleni is offering a Youth Employment Programme aimed at giving unemployed young people valuable workplace experience and skills development opportunities.

Data Capturer: Rodent Control Programme

Requirements:
Applicants must have Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. Advanced computer literacy is required. Candidates must also have good interpersonal relations, communication skills and knowledge of office administration. Relevant experience will be an added advantage.
Duties:
Successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring that all required administration activities linked to the rodent control programme and data management are performed properly. Duties will include data capturing, administrative support, ensuring work is done according to set standards, maintaining customer satisfaction and service excellence, and completing duties assigned by the supervisor.
Team Leader: Rodent Control Programme

Requirements:
Applicants must have Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
Duties:
The successful candidate will ensure that General Workers report for duty and complete attendance registers. The Team Leader will also consolidate daily reports, submit reports to the Environmental Health Practitioner, report absent Rodent Control Ambassadors, and ensure that General Workers perform duties according to allocated areas and work plans.
General Worker: Rodent Control Programme

Requirements:
Applicants must have Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
Duties:
Successful applicants will conduct ward-based door-to-door education and surveys by visiting households within designated wards. They will provide information and education on rodent control and other environmental health matters.
Duties will also include distributing pamphlets, mobilising community members for education campaigns and block meetings, following up on identified infested premises, giving feedback reports, working with Environmental Health Practitioners, and participating in rodent control education campaigns.
General Workers will also be expected to inspect a minimum of thirty premises per day, complete daily attendance registers, record premises visited, record pamphlets distributed, and assist with health talks and educational campaigns.
