Responsibilities
Successful learners will assist with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances.
Learners will assist with the compounding, manipulation or preparation of non-sterile medicine or scheduled substances according to approved formulas and standard operating procedures.
Learners will assist with unpacking and merchandising stock.
Learners will help clean dispensary and OTC shelves as approved by the responsible pharmacist.
Learners will perform other duties assigned by the Dispensary Manager.
Learners will learn how to accurately interpret scripts and act professionally within the legal requirements of the South African Pharmaceutical Council.
Learners will assist with accurate picking, packing, labelling and checking of medication.
Learners will become aware of common dosages and important drug interactions.
Learners will ensure that all medications are checked and signed by a pharmacist.
Learners will assist with stock control, including shelf cleanliness, packing organisation and medicine expiry dates.
Learners will follow up with patients regarding script tracking reports and appointments.
Learners will assist with call centre scripts and patient service telephone calls.
Learners will provide information to individuals to promote health.
Learners will assist with scheme authorisation of chronic, HIV and AIDS, and oncology medication.
Learners will report low stock, out-of-stock levels and stock errors to the dispensary manager.
Learners will receive dispensary stock according to company standard operating procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have Grade 12.
Applicants must have Pure Mathematics.
Applicants must have either Physical Science or Life Science.
Applicants must have obtained at least an average of 50%.
