About PathCare Phlebotomy Technician Learnerships 2027
The PathCare Academy is inviting responsible and respectable individuals to apply for the Phlebotomy Technician Learnership commencing in 2027.
This learnership is suitable for applicants who have a well-developed work ethic, are responsive to customer needs and are willing to gain theoretical and practical training in the healthcare laboratory environment.
Theoretical training will take place at one of the three PathCare Academy campuses, while practical training will be offered at PathCare laboratories and depots across South Africa.
Requirements
Applicants must have an NSC Grade 12 pass with:
- Life Science / Biology: 50% or higher
OR
- HBM: 60% or higher
- Mathematics: 40% or higher
OR
- Mathematical Literacy: 60% or higher
Skills and Competencies
Applicants should have the following skills and competencies:
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Ability to read, write and understand basic Afrikaans
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Ability to work under pressure and study rigorously
- Well-developed work ethic
- Willingness to collect and/or process blood and body products
- Ability to provide excellent service and respond to customer needs
- Willingness to work shifts and after hours as required
Selection Process
The competitive selection process will include:
- Screening of applications and academic results
- Shortlisted candidates being invited to undergo proficiency tests
- Highest scoring candidates being invited to attend panel interviews
