Momentum Group Actuarial Science Youth Bursary 2027
Momentum Group has opened applications for its Actuarial Science Youth Bursary Programme for the 2027 academic year.
The bursary is aimed at high-performing university students who are already enrolled in an eligible Actuarial Science qualification and have successfully completed their first year of study.
Successful recipients will receive financial support for tuition and academic expenses, as well as mentorship, vacation work and networking opportunities.
The bursary is not open to Grade 12 learners who plan to begin first-year university studies in 2027.

Eligible Actuarial Science Qualifications
Applicants must currently be enrolled in one of the following qualifications at an accredited South African university:
- Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science.
- Bachelor of Business Science in Actuarial Science.
- Bachelor of Commerce in Actuarial Science.
- Bachelor of Science in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics.
Applicants pursuing qualifications outside the listed fields may not be considered.

The bursary is not open to Grade 12 learners who intend to begin first-year Actuarial Science studies in 2027.

Bursary Recipient Responsibilities
Successful recipients will be expected to:
- Submit requested documents within five working days.
- Complete the qualification within the universityโs prescribed timeframe.
- Pass all subjects in each academic year.
- Meet the progression requirements for the next year of study.
- Submit semester results to Momentum Group within five working days of receiving them.
- Submit records of tuition, accommodation and meal expenses.
- Provide proof of other bursary-related expenses.
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
- Remain committed to the actuarial profession.
Actuarial Exemption Requirement
Recipients will be expected to graduate with at least:
Four actuarial exemptions, excluding N111
Applicants should understand the exemption requirements connected to their university programme and the actuarial profession.
Continued bursary support may depend on academic performance and progress toward the required exemptions.

Successful recipients must demonstrate a willingness to join Momentum Group after completing their qualifications.
The bursary programme is intended to develop future actuarial professionals who may contribute to the organisation after graduation.
The final employment or work-back conditions will be explained in the bursary agreement provided to successful applicants.
