City of Johannesburg Student Internship Programme 2026
The City of Johannesburg Social Development Department is offering internship opportunities to qualifying students in the Johannesburg community.
The internships form part of the Cityโs work-based training initiative aimed at helping students gain on-the-job exposure required for an academic qualification or experiential training after completing their studies.
The programme will run for a period not exceeding 18 months.

Food Value Chain Minimum Requirements

Food Value Chain Primary Function
The successful intern will support activities relating to agricultural value chains, food processing, food quality and food safety.
The role is intended to assist farmers in moving from primary agricultural production towards processed and value-added products.
The intern may also support training and compliance activities linked to:
- South African Bureau of Standards requirements.
- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points certification.
- Food quality.
- Food safety.

- Implementing activities that increase smallholder agricultural production.
- Supporting market linkages.
