MQA Finance Internship Programme 2026

The Mining Qualifications Authority is offering a two-year Finance Internship Programme aimed at providing unemployed graduates with practical workplace experience.

The successful candidate will be appointed for:

24 months

and will receive a monthly stipend of:

R9 306.18

The opportunity is available only to South African citizens who have never previously participated in an internship programme.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • National Diploma or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6 in Financial Accounting.

The following qualification will be an added advantage:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree or equivalent at NQF Level 7 in Financial and Accounting.

Finance Internship Responsibilities

The successful intern will report to the Finance Manager and may be responsible for:

  • Processing invoices on the accounting software.
  • Processing electronic payments.
  • Performing creditors’ statement reconciliations.
  • Processing journals.
  • Performing creditors control account reconciliations.
  • Performing bank reconciliations.
  • Supporting financial internal controls.
  • General administration within the finance environment.
  • Performing other functions delegated by the supervisor.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Understanding of legislation and developments relating to education and training.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
