AGSA Young Professionals CA Programme 2027

The Auditor-General of South Africa is offering SAICA training contract opportunities for aspiring Chartered Accountants who want to complete their articles in a professional public-sector audit environment.

Successful candidates will work alongside experienced audit professionals while gaining practical experience in audit planning, execution, financial analysis, compliance and stakeholder engagement.

What Trainee Auditors Will Do

Trainee Auditors will support AGSA audit teams with planning, executing and reporting on audit engagements.

The role includes conducting audit procedures, analysing financial information, documenting audit evidence, supporting financial compliance work and engaging with stakeholders.

The programme is intended to help candidates develop the technical and professional skills required to progress in the Chartered Accountancy profession.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should preferably have:

  • A Certificate in Theory of Accounting (CTA); or
  • A Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA).

Applicants may also be studying towards a CTA or a SAICA-endorsed undergraduate degree.

Candidates must be eligible to register for the Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC) and must be residing in South Africa.

Employment Equity preference may apply.
