The Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) invites unemployed South African youth, graduates and students requiring workplace experience to apply for the Apprenticeship and Experiential Learnership Programme 2026 / 2027.

MISA Skills Development Programme 2026 / 2027
MISA is offering apprenticeship and experiential learning opportunities aimed at helping unemployed youth, graduates and students gain practical experience in municipal infrastructure, operations and maintenance.
Successful applicants will be placed at municipalities identified by MISA.
The programme consists of two main streams:
Apprenticeship Programme: Three years
Experiential Learnership Programme: Graduate workplace learning and Work Integrated Learning opportunities

Electrical Apprenticeship
Reference Number: Electrical 2026/01
Applicants may qualify through one of the accepted technical pathways, including a full N2 Engineering qualification with relevant trade theory, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, Mathematics and an appropriate fourth subject.
Other accepted routes may include a SETA quality-assured technical trade theory qualification equivalent to NQF Level 3, a relevant NC(V) Engineering Certificate, Technical Grade 11 or a relevant N6 Certificate or National Technical Diploma.

Experiential Learnership Duration
The graduate experiential programme provides approximately:
Two years of workplace learning
WIL opportunities are available for students who require approximately:
12 to 24 months of practical workplace experience
Applicants may come from universities, universities of technology or TVET Colleges, depending on the specific programme requirements.

- Certified copy of South African ID.
- Proof of residential address.
- Institutional release or confirmation letter for WIL applicants where required.
