Programme Purpose

The Millwright Apprenticeship aims to ensure that all manufacturing equipment is serviced and maintained according to specifications and good engineering practice, while equipping apprentices with the technical skills to work independently after training.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation artisans
  • Repair equipment failures to restore functionality
  • Perform preventative maintenance to optimise equipment output
  • Conduct root cause analyses to prevent repeat failures
  • Complete job cards with accurate information
  • Ensure equipment is safe before work begins and safety measures are functional
  • Adhere to cGMP standards as per Adcock Ingram Critical Care requirements
  • Identify parts for replacement and additional work requirements
  • Recommend performance improvement activities
  • Develop the skills needed for independent work after training

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential
  • N4 – N6 in Electrical and/or MechanicalEssential
