Allan Gray Orbis Foundation High School Scholarship 2028

The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation is inviting learners to apply for its High School Scholarship for the 2028 academic year.

The scholarship is open to learners who are currently in Grade 6 in 2026 and will enter Grade 8 in 2028.

This opportunity is aimed at learners who show strong academic performance, financial need and significant entrepreneurial potential.

Who the Scholarship Is For

The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation High School Scholarship is for young South African learners who want to attend high school from Grade 8 in 2028.

Applicants must demonstrate an interest in entrepreneurship and show characteristics such as leadership, curiosity, problem-solving and the ability to identify opportunities.

What the Scholarship Covers

The scholarship will cover the following expenses:

Eligibility Requirements

At least one parent must also be a South African citizen.

Selection Process

Applicants must first submit their application and all required supporting documents.

Successful applicants will be required to write the Foundation exam in Mathematics and English for Grade 6 in December 2026.

Successful applicants will then be invited to interviews between February and March 2027.

Applicants will also be invited to placement schools for interviews.

Applicants who receive recommendations from placement schools will be awarded the scholarship.

After the scholarship is awarded, a Memorandum of Agreement will be signed by the Foundation, the placement school and the scholarโ€™s custodian.
