About the Programme
The Novus Print Apprenticeship Programme is a 36-month structured training opportunity that combines theoretical learning with practical, on-the-job experience. This programme prepares candidates for trade tests in:
- Lithography Press
- Electronic Pre-Press
- Mechanised Bookbinding
- Gravure Press
- Sheetfed Press
Programme Structure
- Phase 1: 3–4 months of theoretical training at an academy (Printing SA)
- Phase 2–4: 26–30 months of hands-on experiential learning at Novus Print
- Contracted with FP&M SETA and Novus Print for the full duration
- No guarantee of permanent employment after completion
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
- Minimum 50% pass in Mathematical Literacy
- A technical foundation or technical subject background is advantageous
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in English (course material is in English)
- Willingness to work shifts
- Good colour perception
- Passion for technical environments and mechanical aptitude
