About the Learnership Programme

Learnerships and skills programmes in the mining sector are aligned with the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA).

  • Training is based on prescribed Unit Standards
  • Credits are recorded on the MQA database
  • On successful completion, learners receive an MQA certificate
  • A formal Trade Test is required at the end of the learnership

This programme provides both theoretical and practical training.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • N2 qualification with the following subjects:
    • Mathematics (Not Mathematics Literacy)
    • Engineering Science
    • Industrial Electronics

Additional Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science (Required)
  • N2/N3 Engineering Studies (Required)
  • Valid Driver’s Licence Code B/EB (Advantageous)
  • Dover “B” Symbol (Required)
  • Pass the Technical Test Battery Assessment (Required)
  • English Literacy (Required)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
