Auto Industrial Group is looking for motivated and technically minded individuals to join its Maintenance Apprenticeship Programme.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates who want to gain practical experience, learn from qualified artisans and develop the technical skills required for a successful career in maintenance and engineering within a manufacturing environment.

Successful apprentices will receive hands-on workplace training and will be expected to complete practical learning modules as outlined in the training logbook.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be required to:

  • Complete all practical learning modules as outlined in the training logbook
  • Present the logbook regularly for review and sign-off by supervisors
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with maintenance and repair activities
  • Support qualified Artisans with daily maintenance tasks and projects
  • Learn through observation, active participation and hands-on practical work
  • Develop technical skills by performing tasks independently when competent
  • Ask questions and seek guidance to improve technical knowledge
  • Maintain accurate notes and records for future reference and learning
  • Follow all company safety procedures and safe work practices
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or activities immediately
  • Work effectively as part of the maintenance team
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and grow

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Mathematics, either Pure Mathematics or Technical Mathematics
  • Physical Science
  • Proficiency in English and at least one additional language
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in engineering and maintenance
  • Willingness to learn through practical, hands-on training
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions
  • Ability to maintain accurate records
  • Good communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Must be physically fit and capable of working in a manufacturing or maintenance environment

Advantageous Requirements

The following will be advantageous, but are not compulsory:

  • Engineering Graphics and Design
  • Engineering Drawing
  • Engineering Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Engineering Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Remuneration

Remuneration will be in line with MIBCO grading.
