Internship Overview
The CETA Internship Programme aims to reduce youth unemployment by providing professional and generic internship opportunities to young graduates.
The programme offers:
- Meaningful workplace experience
- Exposure to the SETA landscape
- Rotational placements across departments
- Quarterly performance reviews
Interns will gain insight into how a public entity operates within the Skills Development sector.
Key Responsibilities
Interns will be exposed to:
- Performing entry-level functionary tasks
- Handling correspondence and maintaining records
- Assisting with budgeting coordination
- Supporting audit preparation
- Data capturing and compiling monthly/quarterly reports
- Preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes
- Assisting with presentations
- Supporting supervisors and managers as required
Rotational planning ensures exposure to multiple divisions within departments.
Knowledge and Skills Development
During the internship, participants are expected to develop:
- Understanding of CETA’s mandate and the SETA landscape
- Knowledge of the Skills Development Act (SDA), PFMA, BBBEE, Employment Equity and related frameworks
- Theoretical and practical understanding relevant to their functional areas
Entry Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens under 35 years of age
- Have a valid South African ID
- Hold a relevant post-matric qualification from a recognised institution
- Not have participated in any previous SETA-sponsored internship
- Not have been previously employed
