The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), through its Human Settlements Department, is inviting unemployed graduates and students from Johannesburg communities to apply for the Student Internship Programme 2025 / 2026.

About the CoJ Human Settlements Internship
The internship programme provides on-the-job exposure and work-based training to qualifying youth. It helps students and graduates gain practical experience required for completing or enhancing their academic qualifications.
- Duration: Up to 18 months
- Stipend:
- Graduates (minimum 120 credits completed): R10,109.86 per month
- Students (currently enrolled): R3,500 per month
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 plus a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in:
- Business Management
- Business Administration
- Public Management
- Public Administration
- Or a related field (NQF Level 6/7)
- No prior work experience required
- Computer literacy (MS Office applications)
- English proficiency (reading and writing)
Primary Function
To provide administrative support, research, and analysis in the Business Management Directorate of the Human Settlements Department. This includes:
- General office administration
- Monitoring & evaluation tasks
- Risk management and compliance support
- HR-related administrative duties
- Strategic planning contributions (business plans, quarterly reports, concept notes)
Key Performance Areas
- Provide professional administrative support in the Business Management Directorate
- Assist with site visits and/or physical risk assessments to verify project information
- Support short, medium, and long-term strategic planning
- Handle restricted and confidential documents securely
