City of Johannesburg Trainee Investigator Internships 2025

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) invites South African students and graduates from the Johannesburg community to apply for the Student Internship Programme 2025 (Circular 023/2025). The programme offers practical workplace exposure and professional development opportunities within the Office of the Ombudsman.

Internship Position Available

Internship: Trainee Investigator

  • Department: Office of the Ombudsman
  • Branch: Complaints and Investigations
  • Duration: Up to 18 months
  • Remuneration:
    • Graduates: R10 109.86 per month (Basic salary, no benefits)
    • Enrolled students: R3 500.00 per month (Basic salary, no benefits)

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma / Degree in Law or final-year Law student.
  • Law school certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Only City of Johannesburg residents will be considered.

Primary Function

Support the Office of the Ombudsman in upholding transparency, fairness, and integrity in municipal governance.
