About the Collins Chabane Municipality Bursary Programme 2026
The Collins Chabane Municipality Bursary Programme is designed to assist students who are unable to register for tertiary studies due to financial constraints. While the bursary does not cover full tuition, it addresses one of the most critical barriers to higher education: registration fees.
By covering registration costs, the municipality enables students to formally enter institutions of higher learning and then pursue additional funding such as NSFAS or institutional bursaries.
What the Bursary Covers
The bursary provides funding for:
- Registration fees only at a recognised tertiary institution
The bursary does not cover:
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation
- Books and study materials
- Meals
- Transport
- Living allowances
Priority Fields of Study for 2026
The bursary is restricted to study fields that align with municipal, provincial, and national development priorities, including:
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Town Planning
- Information Technology (IT)
