De Beers Group invites South African unemployed youth to apply for the Engineering Learnership Programme 2026.

De Beers Group is offering Engineering Learnership opportunities at Venetia Mine in Musina. The programme forms part of a structured QCTO Occupational Qualification training programme aimed at developing qualified artisans in various engineering trades.
Successful candidates will enter into a four-year Section 18.2 Learnership Contract, which includes both formal training and practical on-the-job training.
About the Engineering Learnership Programme
The Engineering Learnership Programme provides learners with structured technical training while working towards becoming qualified artisans in specific engineering trades.
Training will take place at the De Beers accredited training centre in Randfontein and include practical workplace experience at Venetia Mine.
Available Learnership Opportunities
De Beers is offering the following engineering trade learnerships:
- Boilermaker
- Instrument Mechanician
- Electrician
- Fitter and Turner
- Diesel Mechanic
- Transportation Electrician (Auto Electrician)
- Rigging
Applicants must clearly indicate the trade reference number when submitting their application.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 with:
- Mathematics (not Maths Literacy)
- Physical Science
- English
- Minimum 40% pass in all subjects
Applicants must also have one of the following:
- N2 qualification with 4 subjects relevant to the trade
or - NCV Level 3 with at least 40% in Mathematics and relevant subjects
Additional Requirements
Applicants must also:
- Be able to travel to the training centre outside Limpopo (transport sponsored by the company)
- Successfully obtain a Red Ticket medical fitness certificate
- Pass criminal record checks and qualification verification
- Complete psychometric and technical assessments

Learnership Contract and Training
Successful candidates will:
- Be appointed on a Section 18.2 Learnership contract (4 years)
- Receive formal training at the Randfontein Training Centre
- Gain practical workplace experience at Venetia Mine
- Participate in technical and artisan development programmes
Preference may be given to candidates from Blouberg and Musina Municipalities in line with the companyโs Employment Equity policy.
