Requirements

• Qualifications: Registration with the SA Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Auxiliary Worker.
• Skills: Computer literacy, report writing, problem-solving, interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, communication skills, and a strong sense of integrity.
• Attributes: Friendly, adaptable, self-disciplined, punctual, capable of working under pressure, and willing to travel.

Duties

• Stay informed about the Victim Offender Dialogue Programme and its objectives.
• Locate and maintain records of victims.
• Orient victims regarding the aims and benefits of the program.
• Facilitate communication between offenders and victims.
• Assess potential areas of conflict and refer issues to departmental social workers.
• Establish a database of community support structures.
• Handle monthly performance reports and provide communication needs to the Head of Community Corrections.
