DNA Economics: Graduate Internships 2023

DNA Economics invites South Africa unemployed graduates to apply for Internship Programme 2023 / 2024.

Internship Location: Pretoria, Gauteng

DNA Economics is a specialist economics and development consulting company, based in Pretoria, but active throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

We are currently looking for recent graduates and current students to join our full-time team as a junior economist in early 2024. Applicants should have an interest in any of the following fields of work:

  • Climate change and energy economics
  • Data analytics
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Public finance
  • Trade and regional integration

At DNA Economics, you will work with experienced economists to solve complex and topical problems through the application of theoretical knowledge and rigorous analysis.

DNA currently implements a hybrid work pol with our head office in Pretoria (Tshwane, Gauteng, South Africa).

The successful candidate must reside (or be willing to re-locate) within driving distance of DNA’s head office. By mutual agreement, successful candidates may also reside in, and work from, Cape Town.

Applicants must meet the following, minimum, requirements to be considered:

  • A completed Honour’s Degree, ideally in Economics, but DNA will also consider graduates with an academic background in Monitoring & Evaluation, Development Studies, Statistics, and other social science master’s studies with a strong quantitative component;
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Willing to travel in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa; and
  • Legally able to work in South Africa.

All shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written recruitment test. 

Salary package is dependent on qualifications and experience. Performance-based bonuses are given annually.
