Drakenstein Municipality invites qualifying applicants between the ages of 18 and 35 years, who permanently reside in Paarl, Wellington, Gouda, Saron or Simondium, to apply for partial bursaries for the 2026 academic year.

Fields of Study Covered
The bursaries will be granted for full-time studies in fields relevant to the Local Government Sector, including:
- Engineering: Civil, Mechanical, Electro-Technical
- Town and Regional Planning
- Local Economic Development and Tourism
- Architectural Technology
- Environmental, Water/Wastewater, Solid Waste
- Finance: Financial Management, Accounting, Auditing
- Artisan Development Training: Diesel Mechanics, Welding, Building Construction, Plumbing, Electrical (Heavy Current)
- Community and Social Development
- Sports Administration
- Public Administration and Services: Law Enforcement, Firefighting, Traffic Management, Human Resources, Public Management
- Accredited Skills Programmes: Hairdressing, Welding, Painting, Grass Cutting, Digger Loader, etc.
Requirements
- Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Must reside permanently in Paarl, Wellington, Gouda, Saron or Simondium.
- Attach latest academic results (June or September 2025).
- Provide proof of application to a tertiary/learning institution.
- Only fully completed application forms with all required documentation will be considered.
- Current bursary holders continuing their studies will automatically qualify if their performance meets policy requirements.
- No feedback by 31 January 2026 means the application was unsuccessful.
