Eastern Cape Provincial Treasury Internship Programme 2026/2027

The Eastern Cape Provincial Treasury is offering 40 internship opportunities through its 24-month Internship Programme covering the 2026/27โ€“2027/28 period.

The programme targets unemployed graduates who hold the relevant National Diploma or Degree and who have never previously participated in an internship programme.

Successful applicants will receive a stipend of:

R98 097 per annum

Most positions are based in Bhisho, with Municipal Financial Management opportunities available in selected Eastern Cape districts.

General Internship Requirements

Applicants must meet the qualification requirements of the position for which they are applying.

The internship advertisements consistently require:

  • A National Senior Certificate.
  • A relevant Degree at NQF Level 7 or National Diploma at NQF Level 6 recognised by SAQA.
  • Applicants must be unemployed.
  • Applicants must never have participated in an internship programme previously.

The specific field of qualification differs according to the internship position.

Documents Required When Applying

Applications must be submitted through the provincial e-Recruitment system.

Applicants must submit:

  • A fully completed Z83 form generated by the e-Recruitment system.
  • A detailed Curriculum Vitae.

Applicants are not required to submit copies of qualifications or other supporting documents at the initial application stage.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide certified copies of qualifications and other relevant documents on or before the interview date.

The Department notes that the Z83 generated by the e-Recruitment system is currently not signable. Applicants who apply through the system will therefore not be disqualified because the generated Z83 is unsigned; shortlisted applicants may be requested to sign it on or before the interview date.
